A State of Nothingness: Hypnotic Trance Induction

Although there are free hypnosis induction materials that are available on the internet, it is not always a wise choice to utilize them. First, there is a lot of training that must take place for a person to be able to effectively and safely use hypnosis in therapy. If this training has not been done, there is a risk in letting that person have access to the subconscious mind in a hypnotic state. People who use hypnotic trance induction should be fully trained and certified by a professional organization such as the National Guild of Hypnotists. In order to be a part of the NGH, the person has to go through their extensive training program and pass the exams. It is also a good idea that the therapist has other psychological training, such as having their counseling license through the state so that they are able to address other issues that the hypnotic trance induction techniques do not.

Deep Inside

The use of hypnotic trance induction is often used when the other types of induction have not been successful. In the hypnotic trance induction, the therapist introduces suggestions to the patient in what is often called the ‘room of nothingness’ or the ‘room of forgetfulness.’ When any suggestion is made in this room the patient will not remember that the therapist has made them. However, the suggestion itself is still planted in the patient’s mind so that he will act on it in every day life. Thus, the hypnotic trance induction therapy can circumvent more stubborn patients who are unwilling in other hypnotic states to accept what the therapist is suggesting to them because they remember where the suggestion comes from.

The other therapies besides the hypnotic trance induction can be used in a lesser level of a trance state. These therapies will often focus on particular issues that the person is facing. The scripts will usually include what the problem currently is that the patient is facing and will also include a visualization of the problem and a casting out of the problem. The problems can be related to health issues, mental health issues or addictions. There are also some problems that children often have such as bedwetting which can often be solved through the use of hypnosis. Anxiety issues and work related issues are also very commonly healed through different types of hypnotherapy, as well as public speaking butterflies and certain phobias.

Learning Hypnosis Induction Techniques

In order to be proficient and safe in using hypnotic trance induction or any other method of hypnosis induction, there is a lot of training that is required. Although some people may think that they have read enough information over the internet and in books to be good at hypnosis, there are certain cautions that must be considered before trying to do it as a practice. First, hypnosis induction techniques are used on other people who trust the therapist with their subconscious minds. This is a risky proposition that requires the therapist to handle each session very delicately so that problems are not introduced through the particular hypnosis induction technique that is used. Second, every person is different and different methods must be used depending on the patient. If proper training has not been done the therapist can escalate the problems that the people are coming in for help with rather than solving them. Third, there is the National Guild of Hypnotists that has set certain training standards for those who want to practice these hypnosis induction techniques. Anyone who wants to use hypnosis in a professional manner is wise to go through these classes to achieve that certification.

Classes

There are different aspects of hypnosis induction techniques that must be studied in order to use them professionally. In the first part of the training, students learn about hypnotherapy in general and the different techniques that are commonly used. They also learn about the different types of patients that they might see in their practices and what techniques work best with each of them. They will also learn how to establish a safe atmosphere for the clients so that they can trust them during the hypnosis induction techniques in each session.

In the next stage of the training, students learn how to use the different scripts that are available in hypnosis induction techniques. They are also shown how to take a client deeper into the hypnotic state and even into a trance state. The different schools of though regarding the hypnosis induction techniques are learned by the students and they are given an exam to show that they have retained all of the knowledge taught in the course. The second part of the course talks about setting up a hypnotherapy practice and the details that need to go into it. This goes even further into the techniques that can be used with patients such as age regression and group hypnosis.
