Raising your self esteem and self confidence

To many of us, high self esteem is a dream. We think of it as something unattainable, something that belongs to a charmed few.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Healthy self esteem is possible for anyone–and deserved by all. Because the truth is everyone has something they’re good at, they just may not see it because of negative feedback they’ve received from others and internalized.

And having just one thing that you recognize that you are good at and have been successful at is your springboard for raising your self esteem and self confidence. A wise step to take whenever you’re beset with negative thoughts is to remind yourself of that one thing.

Does that sound too simple? A major cookie maker started from this very method. A woman who had reached rock bottom, who thought she wasn’t good for anything, was able to start this major company when a person asked her the simple question what was one thing she could do. The woman thought and thought, then answered she could make a mean chocolate chip cookie. She started baking a cookies for a few local caterers and from there launched a major cookie company–and her self esteem increased dramatically, as you can imagine.
