Nova Genesis Game – Free MMORPG

Nova Genesis is a free to play 2.5D browser based MMORPG by R2 Games. Its open beta started last January 9th 2015. Based on feedback from players, it was announced on Jan. 16, 2015 that there will be an upcoming comprehensive content update. This review is current as of January 18, 2015. Having said that, now is great time to play the game since players will be receiving lots of rewards during the transition period.

The background of this game is not that attractive, since there’re so many similar start. However, the effect of the airship and the model of the demon are both so cool, and that’s what made me continue playing. Nova Genesis features a side scrolling style game play with turn based combat style. It also has the auto path feature that lets you move your character to the next point of interest with just one click. The interface of this game is quite similar to other side scrolling games, you have your character portrait and health bar at the top left corner and chat box at the lower left corner. On the top right corner, you will find different options and your active quest. On the lower left corner you have your bags, shop and dungeons buttons.

It also allows players to adventure across a vast fantasy land as the Heroes destined to save the world and push back enemy invaders that have attacked the realm. Focusing on completing quests and story content players will level up and improve their characters in various ways as they rise in power to take on greater challenges that will in turn yield greater rewards

There are 3 classes to choose from in Nova Genesis, each with its own distinct skill tree and combos. Battle gameplay in Nova Genesis, like most browser MMORPGs, is automated but players have the freedom to select which skills and combos to execute. Combos like “Squad Rush”, can be triggered if your party has accumulated enough “rage” points throughout the battle. After every battle, players will be rewarded extra EXP, gold, anima and rubies to be used for buying or forging new stronger equipments. Players can also take the “elite dungeons” challenge accessible upon reaching Level 15. In elite dungeons, players will get rewarded ‘elite tokens” after completing a floor in the dungeon. Elite tokens can be exchanged for rare gears.

It has one of the most enjoyable turn based combat style that does not feel boring at all. There is also a nice story that holds the entire game together. If you enjoy side scrolling game, Nova Genesis is a must have, plus the best part is, it’s free to play.
