Here goes. In 1977, at the age of five, Gordon raced in his first quarter midget race. By the time Gordon was in school, he was making waves on the racing scene. By the time he was six, Gordon won 35 main events and won the overall Western States Championship. A year later, he earned his first Grand National Championship.
