These are the best scissors I’ve ever owned! I’ve had them a year and they are the workhorse of my kitchen. I even use them to cut up whole chickens and they are as good as the day I bought them. Excellent heavy duty quality, would buy them again in a minute.

Really sharp shears . . . I mean really sharp. You need to be careful when you take them apart and when you wash them. They are perfect for cutting carne asada meat and for trimming the fat off of chicken. I love the ability to clean the shears are our old ones couldn’t come apart and started rusting at the connection.

Broke my original pair that came with the knives, this pair of shears is even better. Great price.

  4. Not for small hands!
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I bought these Wusthof shears from Amazon and have not been pleased with them. I have small hands and it is very hard for me to open and close the shears enough to cut though a chicken breast. It is uncomfortable and feels like the blades are too stiff. I am not sure how to adjust the tension, if there is a way to help them open more smoothly. ALSO, the ergonomics are such that the top and bottom handle are identical (perhaps to match left and right-handed persons), so it’s hard to feel like they fit nicely into the hand. Imagine a baseball glove without finger sectioning. Yes, you can use it, but it doesn’t accentuate the natural shape of the hand. The scissors are not poor quality, but they fit poorly in my hand. Perhaps it is my small hands?? I wear 4.5 to 5 size ring, and my hands are less than 7 inches from wrist to middle finger tip, to give you a frame of reference. My advice is try before you buy. I was ‘upgrading’ from Fiskars orange kitchen shears that also take apart. I wanted the black name-brand shears here to match my new knives. BUT guess who puts down the Wusthof and reaches for the Fiskars? :) Hope this helps someone…

  5. Good product

I have used these shears for about a month and they are great. They are very sharp and have easily cut through everything I’ve tried them on, including some very tough plastic packaging material that would challange an ax. I have not yet tried them on chicken bones but, judging from past performance, they should handle that chore with ease. Highly reccomended.

The scissors are great. They are very sharp and sturdy. They will cut through chicken breasts with ease. They separate to wash so you can get them really clean.

  7. Fair pair of shears

The blades are sharp, but they are a little loose. I think that’s the price I have to pay for easy-to-clean, come-apart scissors. I believe similar quality scissors can be had for about half the price.

  8. Great buy and fits the bill

Great pair of shears. Super sharp and very comfortable to use. I didn’t have problems with it coming apart when using as some have stated and this feature is a must have for cleaning, especially when using to cutting up chicken. Does the job and stays super sharp. Very pleased with purchase, would buy again.

  9. Really good for left handed

I got the after reading equipment reviews in […]. Even left-handed is great, high quality, easy to clean as advertised.

  10. Worth the money

Not that these were terribly expensive at about $20, BUT the quality for value is high. They cut beautifully.

I replaced a $10 pair of shears whose plastic handles had snapped off after about 6 years.

These are far better than the ones they’re replacing and I DO like that they come apart, which makes for easy sharpening as well.

Unless you are trying to trim the top off a watermelon, it’s unlikely these will accidentally come apart while using them. Each time they go in the dishwasher it’s a very deliberate process on my part to separate them.

    Would highly recommend.

I’ve been using these for several months now. I couldn’t ask for better performance. They are quite sharp, cut through chicken carcasses easily, come apart easily for easy cleaning and are simple to reassemble. They totally meet my expectations.

  12. In love

I don’t think these shears cut things, I think they wish things apart. Cutting with them is a joy unparalleled by any other scissor cutting I have ever done. These cut effortlessly through everything.

To be honest, I got these because of the brand, but now that I have them, I’m raving to everyone. The quality is great. My husband thought he “broke” the shears, but it was actually a delightful discovery that they come apart for easy cleaning. I think I actually did a happy dance.

  13. good scissors

I like these shears. They’re sharp and sturdy. They come apart a little more easily (accidentally) than I expected.

  14. Great Shears

Big improvement over the old Wusthof ones. Stay together better while in use and come apart/back together with less effort than older model. Like all straight shears, not as good for tough tasks as compound action poultry shears, but a lot more convenient to use and clean.

  15. great shears!

great kitchen shears… Overall, wusthof is pretty pricey.. but worth it if you have the money… I probably think twice if it wasn’t on sale.. like I would go for a Victorinox/RH Forschner which I think is also good quality in terms of blade … In this case tho, the come apart feature (with the sale price) is the selling point for me!
