I have an old Ginsu which I bought over 30 years ago and it was the only sharp knife I had. This set if absolutely beautiful and functional. Very sharp-be careful! If my old Ginsu is any indication, I expect these to last the rest of my life.

Great knivess, and you’re not going to beat the price. The serrated edges cut cleanly (ie doesn’t shred my bagels!). Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a decent set of inexpensive knives.

Thanks to Amazon.com I finally have a decent set of kitchen knives. I have gotten many knives from other manufacturers that weren’t worth even opening up. They, too, had promised a “lifetime warranty” which needless to say was as worthless as the knives. These knives come in a very nice black block holder that is a nice addition to any kitchen. I would definitely recommend them!

For the price this set is a winner. The knives cut well but are not as sharp as I had anticipated. The set is well made and looks good.

  7. Great set! – RUSTED though

As a left hander, I would highly recommend this knife set. It is durable, looks good and the knifes are sharp! I am 25 and have never found a knife set that was affordable for left handers, until I found this. Sorry to say I have had these knives for only 1 month and they have already started to rust! Very sad.

Ginsu Knives are what all the hype is about. They very sharp and sturdy. When slicing an onion or tomatoe they make it so easy.I use mine on fresh pineapple too. I had a black handle set only to just buy a stainless steel set for my wife, know we use the older set for camping. Oh the price and delivery was a bargin too.

    Thank you

    Chris

We mainly purchased this product for our kitchen stainless decor. We love the way it looks in our kitchen. We have heard that the set works well but we are pleased the way it is made.

I have been making do with dull knives for so long, I forgotten how much easier and faster cooking is when you have great knives to use! This knife set is perfect. It has the main knives you need on a daily basis. They are not kidding when they say these knives are sharp. They are! I have the cuts to prove it. Be careful when using these knives. A little effort goes a long way when using these knives. Love them!

These are a great set of knives; it comes with so many different types of knives, everything you need including kitchen shears! Super sharp and stylish. I have had no issues so far with my new knives and would highly recommend them.

I bought these knives in (Item model number: 4827) October 2006 on amazon.com . I’ve used them almost every day, and even on some camping trips. I hand wash them in the sink. They look as good as new, work as good as new, after almost 4 years so far. They will probably outlast me. What can I say, they speak for themselves. I use them, they don’t break, they look good, and stay sharp. Worth every penny.

I got these to replace a set that was only a year old. That set was about 4 times the cost of these, and held up alright, i was just in need of a different color block after doing some changes in my kitchen. So I gave that set to my mother, and purchased these since the price was so tempting.

Since it is just myself and my 6 year old son, I do all my dishes by hand except for every few months when I run things in the dishwasher just to keep its seal from drying out, so I’m not too concerned about rust as they’ll get washed and dried very quickly.

The block is pretty standard, and disappointing only in the fact that, unlike the set I gave away, there’s no little plastic or rubber inserts around the edges of the top, to help keep the blade from dulling if it’s slid against the slot. I’m careful to not let the blade slide on the edge as it’s pulled out or placed back in, though, so it wasn’t enough to drop a star just for that.

Blades are sharp, and things were more or less well packaged, only a few cases of the tip protectors and the cardboard covers over the blades during shipping getting bent out of shape. However, it was just the protective things that were having that problem, all the knives arrived unscathed, no scratches or bent tips or anything.

Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was, as another reviewer had mentioned also, the handle is rough. Where the two pieces meet along the seam in the middle on the bottom, it’s not smooth – some of them have a decided edge there as well, not enough to cut outright, but enough to make you a little careful when you’re holding them. I may take an emory cloth and see if I can buff the few spots like that away without damaging anything, otherwise for the cost, you can’t beat the set.
